Troubleshooting methods for tripping faults in substations

As an important equipment for user terminal power distribution, the importance of stable and reliable operation of prefabricated box substations is self-evident. However, due to various reasons, automatic tripping often occurs in box substations, which is a self-protection mechanism to prevent greater losses when the pre installed box substation fails due to power outage.

Below is a brief analysis of the steps for troubleshooting tripping faults in a box type substation:

Line trip 1.10kV.

When the 10kV switch side trips, investigation should start from the tripping switch cabinet. Firstly, the information of the protective device's protective action should be checked and the cause of the fault should be preliminarily determined based on the information situation; If there are no abnormalities, then check the closing of the trip switch and the energy storage of the switch, as well as the condition of the first device in the cabinet; If there are no abnormalities in the above inspection, further check whether the second circuit of the switch is normal, and whether the switch status and position indication are normal.

Remember: If forced transmission is required, it is necessary to ensure that the protection signal is reset before power transmission.

Trip the low-voltage side switch box type substation.

The tripping of the low-voltage main switch of the box transformer is usually caused by three reasons: low-voltage outgoing line fault, bus fault, and switch misoperation. When the low-voltage side main switch of the box substation trips, a detailed inspection of the low-voltage side main switch equipment and secondary equipment is required to determine the possible cause of the trip. If there is a protection action on the low voltage side of the box transformer, it can be determined by checking the protection action. If there is an overcurrent protection action on the low voltage side of the box transformer, the fault cause can be further determined by checking whether the three-section protection setting of the switch is reasonable. If the cause of the fault cannot be identified, it is necessary to perform a voltage withstand test on the low-voltage switchgear with a dynamic meter, and a trial operation can be carried out. After the successful power test, pay attention to the operation of the equipment. If there are any abnormalities, immediately disconnect the switch; If the power test is unsuccessful, it is necessary to inspect the equipment and identify the cause of the malfunction.
